DRAGADOS’ track record in the construction of roads and highways dates back to the 1960s in Spain, when it played a key role in the expansion of the national road network and toll highways.

Since then, DRAGADOS has delivered road infrastructure projects worldwide, building solid experience across all contracting models and integrating design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance while consistently adapting to the specific technical and contractual requirements of each project.

Its portfolio includes a wide range of roads, highways, and ring roads, as well as works on high-traffic corridors in metropolitan areas, where maintaining traffic flow throughout the construction phase is essential.

SH288 Toll Lanes in Harris County

Houston, United States of America

The SH-288 project involves the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of 10.25 miles of roadway infrastructure, consisting of two roadways with two carriageways per direction, located within the median of the existing SH-288 corridor, between US-59 and the Harris County boundary at Clear Creek. The project aims to relieve congestion along the SH-288 corridor and significantly improve access to the Texas MedicalCenter, one of the largest healthcare and employment hubs in the Houston metropolitan area.

La Palma Emergency Road

Canary Islands, Spain

The volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma, which lasted 85 days, caused the complete interruption of the main north–south road connections in the western part of the island due to the intense lava flows. The affected area covered more than 2,965 acres, with an estimated a verage thickness of 12 m and local maximum of up to 70 m, leaving numerous population centers and agricultural holdings in the municipalities of Los Llanos de Aridane, Tazacorte, and El Paso isolated. In March 2022, the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) declared a state of emergency and ordered the urgent execution of the works required to restore the connection between roads LP-215 and LP-213, in the southeastern sector of the lava flow, thereby re-establishing the main affected mobility corridor.

Lugo-Santiago Highway (A-54)

Galicia, Spain

The Lavacolla–Arzúa West section of the A-54 motorway comprises 18.5 km of newly constructed infrastructure, functionally replacing the corresponding stretch of the N-547 Lugo–Santiago de Compostela road. The alignment follows a sinuous layout, deliberately routed away from population centers and areas of high agricultural productivity, thereby enhancing road safety and reducing impacts on the surrounding environment, including the historic Camino de Santiago, which runs parallel to the former road. The project includes the construction of five interchanges of different typologies, incorporating solutions with single or dual roundabouts, ensuring efficient connectivity and traffic flow.
