The expansion and refurbishment of Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport involved an increase of 70,600 m² to the existing terminal, reaching an overall area of approximately 97,500 m², together with a comprehensive upgrade of airport infrastructure.

The project comprised the expansion and refurbishment of the international passenger terminal, as well as the construction of a new air traffic control tower with a 60 m high reinforced concrete shaft, strengthening the airport’s operational and control capabilities.

Works also covered the aircraft parking apron and taxiways, improvements to passenger terminal car parks and the construction of new internal road networks.

The contract scope included key technical infrastructure such as a new electrical substation, the extension of the thermal power plant, a new potable water supply source and the expansion of the sewerage network.

In addition, new facilities were developed within the cargo terminal area, including auxiliary buildings, access roads and vehicle parking areas, contributing to a more efficient and integrated airport layout.
